Course Overview

Since the 1990s, Linux has grown to become one of the most reliable and secure operating systems in the world. In fact, it powers the entire Android platform and runs most of the internet, the world’s top supercomputers, our phones, cars, and even home appliances. Linux is everywhere.

Apart from its robust security against viruses, crashes, and malware, application developers rely on Linux because of the flexibility that comes with it. The Linux OS is distributed under an open-source license, which means that users can freely run, study, modify, and redistribute it, unlike other operating systems which can be difficult to tweak.
